How much can one heart hold? No, I don’t mean how much blood the human muscle known as the heart organ can hold while pumping life through a person’s body. I mean the ethereal center of a person’s soul. When someone says their heart is bursting, it indicates the heart has reached its capacity and can hold no more. I call bullshit. The heart is unlimited. The heart can hold infinite emotions – love, hate, compassion, hurt, joy, fear – it goes on and on endlessly. The highest joy you think you’ve felt and might ever imagine can always be topped by another situation or condition that brings you even closer to the pinnacle you think your heart can endure. The worst pain can make you think you’ll die, and sometimes you might, but yet there’s always the possibility that you can face something far, far worse to stretch the limits of anything you ever imagined. The universe of every emotion and measure of emotion is in you, waiting to be experienced, felt, lived, hoped for. It’s called being alive. Feeling. Experiencing. Dreaming. Always reaching, always yearning for that higher high or lower low. Yes, a person can even desire to feel more hurt and pain, just as much as the wish to experience more joy and love. Feeling any emotion might be justified by circumstances the outside world knows nothing of. Nobody knows what the heart of another person holds truly. Therefore, we must love, endure, be patient and compassionate of the actions and reactions of other people. They may know things and experiences we ourselves never will. Just love them. Love them infinitely.
