Step Back

Do you ever feel like the world around you is crazy? Crazy with rules. Crazy with revelations. Crazy with things going on all around you. All of a sudden things are spinning and you try so hard to grab on to something to steady you? Then you realize all the craziness in the world is happening around you and not to you, it’s not even about you. At that point, just stop. Step aside. Take a break and breathe. Let it all swirl and spin around you. Be still. Be steady. Wait. No matter how muddy the puddle, once the dirt settles it all becomes clear again. Sometimes we get caught up in the madness of the world and take it in, absorb it, feel it. Next time this happens, just step back and let it pass. Once the dust settles, if there’s anything that is for you, affects you, needs your attention, then you can deal with it. With a steady breath and calmness. Are all your limbs attached and still working? Check. Is your heart beating and your blood running? Check. Can you breath? Check. Then you’re ok. Everything else is external. Everything else is something you can handle. What’s meant for you will still be there when the madness has subsided. Wait for it. Deal with it. Get past it. Get on with life. Your life. Not the hundred other lives you’re exposed to on a daily basis. Love them all, yes. But live YOUR life. If you thrive on the madness, the crazy world around you, then grab it and hold on and go for it. But it’s just as acceptable to step back, steady your breath and observe. Feel. It’s okay to experience life without being caught up in the drama. It’s okay. However you want to live your life is okay. Do no harm but take no shit. And remember to love. Love yourself and every other being. You can love without being attached. Just step back, let it go and breathe. It’ll be ok.
