Do you love music as much as I do? Like REALLY love it? Feel it down to your very soul? You know the good songs by the way they make you feel. And sometimes, out of nowhere really, what they make you feel hits you so strong, so sudden, that you literally, and I mean Literally, can’t breathe? The memory that song brings back just sits there in that one breathe so long you think you’ll never breathe again. Could be a good memory. The kind of memory where you realize it’s this one and only moment you’ll ever have like this. Could be a bad memory, of something you really didn’t ever want to think about again. But here it is. So you wait, and wait, and wait, and woosh…thank God your body works like it should, or you wouldn’t take that next breath. Could be just a memory of a lost love, the one that got away and you wonder where he is and what he’s doing right now. Sometimes you already know and sometimes you never will. And you smile. Because no matter how it ended, if it ever really did, you want him to be happy. But if you think about it, music always ties you to a memory. Something that’s happened and gone. Something that might come again, but if it doesn’t, it’s there for you. Always lurking, always waiting. To remind you again when you hear it, that music and memories can never, ever be parted.
